The Proctored Essay
A 30-minute response to a prompt. While not assigned a numerical score, the raw copy is sent directly to admissions committees to benchmark authentic composition mechanics.

Unlike the SSAT, the ISEE does not penalize incorrect answers. Leaving a question blank is a major mechanical error; maximization requires completing every bubble on the sheet.
